My husband and I have been EYEING this place for MONTHS. With kids we were skeptical about going a half hour each direction for a more casual dining experience with both kids, and a date night is definitely out of reach with no help.
But we were in the area and FINALLY got to trying it. AND WE FREAKING LOVED IT. John and the two chefs in the back were super welcoming from the time we came in. Luckily we came in before the dinner rush, so food was fresh and quick to hit our table.
The fresh tea or limeade - amazing.
The five spice fries? Shockingly reallllly good.
The buns? STAR OF THE SHOW! As they should be!!
Desert bun? They sent one to us on the house and it was incredible!
Overall our experience here was great, and we urge them to open up a location in Lindenhurst!!

This place is consistently on point. Food is fresh and oh so delicious. Staff is friendly! Only complaint is that they aren’t open on Mondays 😂

This could be the best food in Patchogue Village. Heck, at the moment it is! The food is simple, clean and rich with flavor. Service is friendly and attentive. They know what they’re doing here. Other larger establishments in Patchogue should really learn from this place. Simple acts such as greetings and saying goodbye/thank you are not overlooked. Solid experience. Go check them out.

Bird and Bao in Patchogue is truly exceptional! The service is outstanding, the food is delectable, and the ambiance is simply wonderful. My personal favorite is the Blackbird, while my husband is a big fan of the Patchog. The rice bowl is phenomenal—always fresh and of the highest quality. What an incredible vibe!

Warning!!! You might get addicted! Bird And Bao serves up some serious bao! The innovative menu choices offered make this place a Patchogue gem.
Located off Main St, paid street parking and a paid lot in the back of the restaurant. There is a back entrance to the building. Inside, the restaurant is very small. They have a few tables inside but I believe this is more of a takeout spot. It's extremely clean. The workers sanitize everything after each customer leaves their seat.
The prices are fabulous for what you receive! $15 gets you 2 huge bao, a bunch of seasoned fries, and a drink. They also sell the bao separately. The other menu items are also fairly priced.
The service was super friendly & fast!
The food was amazing and very addicting! The bao are the best I've ever had! The unique menu choices make this place even better. I chose to try the Bao Box: Nashville Hot Chicken & The Patchog which came with wonderfully seasoned crunchy fries & house limeaid. The Nashville came with a huge chunk of juicy chicken. The spicy Mayo went perfectly with the chicken. The Patchog was also fantastic. I liked both so much, I can't choose which was better. They're both 5 out of 5 stars. The beautiful pork belly mixed so well with the crunchy kimchi.
Overall, I can't wait to come back and try more bao!
